what are we all having for our dinn dinns ?????????????

You all seem to be such proficient chefs. Well here is a place to share some of that cooking knowledge. Or do you have a cooking problem? Ask away. Jams and chutneys go here too.

Broad beans and bacon. My first ever home grown beans of any sort. I'm proud as punch.

Wild scottish salmon, pan fried momentarily with homegrown red chillies, spring onions and a bit of (not homegrown) teriyaki sauce with fresh caught scottish prawns and mussels. And salad from the garden.

We're celebrating. We don't eat like this usually.

Broadbeans and bacon sounds pretty good Lou. I have some organic broadbeans I bought (reduced for 20p) so I could have that tomorrow night. We have a pile of turnips and lots of chard. Bit of an itbit dinner, but I guess it'll be interesting!

I went out for lunch today, after a wedding venue decoration. (I deserved it) So, I have had a yogurt for dinner. Sounds like a light meal eh? You should have seen what I piled in earlier.
If in doubt ~ use a hammer!

Had a roast last night and the pleasure that every single veg on the plate was home grown. That does make me feel good and the onions were superb!

Roast free range chicken (not our own!) with lemon & rosemary, yellow courgettes from the allotment, roast spuds, Yorkshire pud, bread sauce, sage & onion stuffing. All organic and all made from scratch. I don't usually push the bota out like this but my sister and her fiancee were supposed to be coming over. But they cancelled, so all the more for us.

What a shame your sister had to cancel :( I love roast chicken.... one of my favourites!!

CP - your sis must have heard about the soup

Not sure what we'll be having today - feeling a bit off colour and the thought of food isn't helping much :(

Ha ha, Shirlz! We had the soup for lunch.

I forgot to mention the homemade recurrant chilli and ginger jelly to go with the chicken, and morello cherry pie (from our trees) with ice cream for dessert. Every thing homemade, including the stuffing, bread sauce, ice cream, the whole shebang.

Not exactly a Sunday kind of dinner I had tonight - but most of it homegrown, and rather nice it was, too:

Baby potatoes, boiled in skins and fried in olive oil. Broad beans (with one French bean amongst them!), cooked with the rest of my last year's spring onions (which had turned into silver skin onions by now, and packed quite a punch!), fresh garlic and rosemary.

And a bit of cheese afterwards - not homemade.

But I've been picking strawberries and raspberries and blackcurrants and even gooseberries straight to mouth throughout the day, too...

That's what you get when you grow your own fruit&veg. It's so delicious you fill up on it and don't have space for crisps and chocolate and junk.

Except for last night when we all had space for cherry pancakes with ice cream. The cherries were picked from our own tree and the ice cream was home-made (as were the pancakes, obviously) but that doesn't really make it any healthier.
