Just a quick hello.

We divide our time pretty evenly between Whitby in North Yorkshire (pocket handkerchief and almost vertical shared cottage garden so all we grow are tomatoes in hanging baskets by the door and a big pot of herbs) and a house in northern Dordogne where we have a huge plot of land which appears to be made up almost entirely of boulders covered by some very poor topsoil. We are hoping to grow all sorts on it eventually but at the moment it has just a few very hardy peach trees, a very scary and enormous bramble patch and a few rows of potatoes we put in to try to break up the weed infested terrace flower bed. We´ve also made a very "rustic" double composter so we have already made a start.

It looks as if I will be able to find all sorts of useful information on this forum. It looks very helpful and great fun too!

Hi Graye :hello2:

Love Whitby. From your description, I assume you're on the Abbey side? It is, to say the least, precipitous.
