Much the same as everyone else - except I'd add the little pressed steel Mouli rotary grater thing which I picked up at a car-boot sale for next to nothing. Now, it's absolutely indispensible.

Same here - chef's knife more than anything else, as I tend to be a bit of a luddite when it comes to electrics in the kitchen, but the kettle would be the electric item used most often.

Most used would be a veggie knife like most people here. Most used electrical item would be the espresso coffee machine.

The thing I will be most upset about when it finally breaks is my Kenwood Chef which is from 1972 so is not replaceable.

Me big ol' knife.

Second, me big ol' knife sharpener. A blunt knife is more danergous then a sharp one.

FORK AND PLATE.

Hmm, will have to think - I don't have one knife that does all I have a few for different jobs so that does not count, the frying pan gets a lot of use, plus one of my medium small saucepans. Probably have a collection of about 20 items that get repeated use then a bunch of other stuff that will end up in the loft as and when cobwebs form on it.

Fair point, Andy. What do you use for slicing tomatoes? I use a stainless steel bread knife to cut several millimetre thick slices. That is the only knife that can do it without sharpening. Use it also for fruit bread slices.
