Nothing like that! There were no columns and fancy stuff. It was all stars and strange symbols painted on the ground and the walls as I recall.

Anyway Masonry has been always so secretive that no-one would ever talk about it or explain what any of it meant - which is why I found it so incredibly spooky in there to the extent of getting the cold shivers and wanting out, asap! :(

I've just googled and found a photo of the Lodge that I went to - sadly it was burned to the ground in 2000 during a very sad and unpleasant period of Fiji's history. There's a piccy here of the outside and yes it does have columns  though I don't remember any on the inside!

Hi there, Fatima here. :flower:
Have just been directed here by OH "Tim" as we were having a discussion about my issues with religion and he has previously read this! I've been "googling" Paganism for a few days now to try and see if that's where I'm at, have found things really confusing and vague. Couldn't really understand much of it at all to be honest.
After reading your comments I think it's safe to say that I'm some sort of Pagan (possibly) and that everyone else is just as confused as me!

I think I'm going to go for "Paganistic Witch ish"! :dontknow: :

Anyway, thanks for the wisdom, very much appreciated!
It's nice to be important,
But it's more important to be nice.

Hey Fatima - be whoever and whatever you want to be - you don't need to join a club. One of the things to bear in mind (if it's your spirituality you're questioning) is that there isn't a single religious persuasion on this earth which can claim to be as it was a couple of hundred years ago or more - times change and organised religion changes along with them. Argue with yourself - write down what you believe about what life and death are, the nature of the cosmos, the existence or not of god(dess). Then argue with what you've written. When you're happy with what you've got, that's what you are - invent your own term for it. And if you're happy with yourself, then sod the opinions of the rest of the world.

(Descends from soapbox).

Fatima, Be You, for you will always be you, for as you go through life many things will change for you and your loved ones, and these changes will redefine you. Be content to, Love, Respect, and walk with your own God, for you need no labels.
I can't do great things, so I do little things with love.

I have found this thread really interesting, and I am always glad to hear that people are spirital, and believe and love things outside of themselves. This world is so full of people who are totally self absorbed.

I am a Christian, and I believe that God made the world and everything that is beautiful and wonderful in it.

I grow veg and believe that herbs can heal, I enjoy being in the sun, and the smell after the rain.

I believe that I am custodian of the earth, its a gift from God, and I should look after it, as a result I feel I should try to leave as little make on this earth as possible and want to make the most of it and use is.

Thats my way of seeing things, but most importantly I think we should love one another.

Hi Fatima,
It might be an idea to find out if there's a pagan moot running locally to where you live,i run a local one(unfortunately not near you)some are just social get-togethers,some have speakers on various topics, but they're a good way to meet pagans, discuss what you/they believe and generally work out where you're coming from in your own head....everyone's path is exclusive to themselves  and you neither need to explain or justify it to anyone else.
Both my partner and myself are pagans and even we differ
if you've got any questions or just want a chat please feel free to pm me
