Rosemary from seeds ( plus basil and spinach )

Post: # 97441Post bikemaninasia »

HI Guys and girls

This is my first post.

I live in Taiwan and in February planted some Rosemary seeds. THe soil got pretty dry some days and eventually after regularly making sure the soil did not look like frsh concrete I got the mix right and have some nice shoots coming through. Thery are kept outdoors as it never really goes below 15 degress here.

I have just done a 3 week European business trip and they have been kept indoors and watered regularly.

They have grown up a lot with one pot in particular becoming what I call leggy.

Before I re-pot them can anyone give me advise on what to do next, I am also about to plant seeds for Basil ( sweet genovase ) and Spinach beet ( perpetual spinach ), thats what the packet says

Looking forward to hints

How much light are they getting? Leggy plants often become leggy as they are not getting enough direct sunlight.

If not then let us know more about the conditions and will try and help.

They were indoors for the last 3 weeks now outdoors again. Daily temperatures are between 27 and 32 degrees.

I suspect they went leggy from being inside, because you can never get enough light indoors. I know cos my tomatoes are very leggy and pathetic!

I've never grown rosemary from seed so don't know what it looks like when it is just a seedling. Perhaps the leggy ones could be pinched out to encourage them to bush up? In any event I expect they will come all right in the end now that they are back outside.
