ex smallholder with chicken withdrawal symptoms..

Post: # 97158Post laverne »

Hello.... My name is Laverne and i'm an ex-smallholder that now lives in the NW of England. I spent 9 years living in S.Ireland on a 74 acre 'farm' and kept/rescued everything that breathed as well as growing a lot of our own fruit and vegetables. I also kept bees in an orchard and had access to the local river and the sea was, literally, right outside my door. ( Well that's a bit of a fib, it was across the road and down a bit). Sounds brilliant, doesn't it?..... well I learned what I know the hard way, made loads of mistakes, discovered my own ingenuity with 'free stuff' andbits of tree barkand am missing PARTS of that life to the point of starting to do what I can with what resources I have....... this is quite hard in a semi-detached house but I'm going for it. ( I don't miss the bits like unravelling sheep which have giftwrapped themselves in barbed-wire during a blizzard at 5am).... anyway, i won't waffle..... will enjoy ploughing through the forum and learning a bit more. I hope I can contribute something also. xx
