Sarriette (Savory) and Verveine

Post: # 96257Post chadspad »

Does anyone use these? Ive just bought them from local shop cos they smell lovely especially the verveine which is good for teas. Is there anything else people use it for? What about the savory?

If that's the summer savory, I use that with beans (the green or yellow variety). Verveine I've only ever used in tisane.

Beans as in any beans - but particularly broad beans and runner beans. I'll let Ina respond for tisane, 'cos I bet she has a million and one good recipes. My only contribution would be a particular type of hop tisane.

Sariette is Winter Savory and to me it smells like thyme and oregano, so I use it in the same way I would those other herbs. It does get woody very quickly though (but then again so does my thyme!).
