Hi Mirrie, I know your area quite well - we've got homeschooling friends at Rickinghall and Stowupland, and have group meetings at Wetherden!

Hi from Oulton Broad

Post: # 92721Post missmaudie »

Hello all,
I'm from Oulton Broad in Lowestoft, and have got an allotment after a year of waiting! I've been on it 2 months and have got some things in already. I only started growing veg last year, and have learned a lot already!
Other than that I live in a terrace with my cat and we get along fine most of the time!
I'm off to make the most of the sunshine now.

Well my great grandfather came from Rougham, so that's my claim to Suffolk fame!

That's great! I visited Rougham some years ago because I was desperate to see it and look at the graves in the churchyard and I was absolutely over the moon to find my great-great-grandparents' graves, the headstones mentioning that they had been erected thanks to my great grandfather, of Ceylon (where he had moved to) - cos the family were just poor agricultural labourers who wouldn't normally have had gravestones at all.

But what a sleepy little hollow it is, and the surrounding villages. I can imagine that little has changed since my ancestors times!
