Migrane, anyone?

Post: # 9326Post Tigerhair »

I suffered from these really badly last year and was recommended to take feverfew - and I haven't suffered since! I fully recommend giving it a go - thinking about it I've hardly had a headache since! I'll be growing feverfew this year too :)

Thanks Tiger,

I get them occasionally and they are hell! My mum is a regular sufferer.

Do you have to take it regularly?

I got them from a chemist about £4 a pot of 30 - I took them every day for about 6 weeks then, due only to forgetfulness, I started taking them every 2 or 3 days which I have kept up - seems to be working. Apparently if you pick the leaves, chop them up finely, put them in sandwiches, cut them up to about 1cm square and freeze them - then eat one tiny sarnie a day.... worth a try!

Feverfew is very effective in treating mild migrain. Just a word of caution if you chew the Leaves they can cause mouth ulcers, it's rare but can happen. Also avoid this Plant if pregnent and it has also been stated to avoid if you are on the contraceptive pill so check with your doctor first.
