wool wraps/soakers/longies - pattern required

Post: # 84884Post florence »

Wondering whether anyone knows a good web-reference for a pattern to knit a wool wrap? I had a good search through a while ago and found nothing that looked a good shape. Ended up buying a couple of wraps and some longies instead but once again fancy knitting my own. I am an experienced intermediate knitter (if that's possible?) but not yet capable/confident enough to design my own due to it's 3D dimensions (the gusset bit confuses me  - do I need to use DPs or knit a separate diamond shape and then stitch it in afterwards...etc etc)

Any help welcomed.

Thank you

Was there a discussion for this anwhile ago? Do a search coz I'm sure there was. Anyway a good site is fernandfaerie.com and I think there may be links from that. My mum kntted ds2 a pair of trews that I'm sure were meant to be baggy but as dh pointed out, my mum seems to do a good line in Norman conquest recreation baby clothes so I could post it you if you have no luck.

There is also a great yahoo group that discusses wool soakers and has many links, patterns, and files for members. (wool_soaker_group)

http://fullvid.com/wool/WSLinks.html is another useful link
