Advice needed regarding Fluoride!

Post: # 93582Post Ticker »

Hey everyone, I am trying to find a method to filter out fluoride from my household water. My parents are very clueless when it comes to harmful chemicals such as fluoride and aspartame but are very trusting of me and willing to supply the money if I can find a good filtration system.

I'm sure they would not like to spend more than they have to. Any ideas?

Thanks for the link. I guess I should have been more clear in my questioning as I have a general understanding of fluoride and the different methods to remove it. I'm looking for ideas regarding filtration systems and would like anyones advice regarding a certain brand, or setup. Perhaps even from personal experiences with different kinds of filtration systems.

Here is one from ebay. I just have no idea how effective they are, how much maintenance they require (if any) and how much $ to replace parts/filters etc.

Are you sure your water supply has flouride added? Quite a lot does not. I assumed ours was flouride enriched and was taken aback to discover that it is not. Note that some mineral water bottlers add flouride (Danone for one) as they are allowed to and are NOT OBLIGED TO NOTE IT ON THE LABEL!

Flouride is also added to table salt in some countries. It is worth being aware I tell you!

I am a bit of a heretic in that I do not regard flouride in the amounts in question and in the form it is being administered as being a serious concern for human health. It may even have benefits in overall terms when oral hygine is considered. I should mention that I am a chemist by training and given to these flights of fancy. What I really object to is anyone administering a medicament to me and my family without our consent. :angryfire:
