Milking hamsters??

I was talking to my dairy farmer friend the other day and he was telling me that due to the supermarkets driving down prices that he is having to diversify. Although horse milk was due to be popular a couple of years ago it did not catch on, apparently market research has said this is because people think that the milk will be 'dirty'.

My mate is trying out all sorts of animals milk as an experiment. The market for goats milk is not that lucrative either so what to try next. Now he is a little bit of an odd ball, but in general the stuff he does tends to come off he is someone that would have probably Worn flares in the late 80's before they came back into fashion. He thinks that he should try milking dogs, llamas and even hamsters. So he asked me to do a little market research on here, what would you drink?

You'll probably think this is a joke, too - but I did once see mice being milked - by machine - on telly... A long, long time ago it was, and part of some scientific project.

We tried to develop a market for kangaroo milk back in Oz a few years ago. We found a few agile stockmen who were prepared to give it a go and solved the problem of spillage with the famous bouncing bucket, but sadly Jacka's Roo Juice failed as it all turned to butter.

Still, we were able to export the kangaroos to New Zealand, where more adventurous Kiwis quickly swapped sheep for hot buttered roo...

Well at least we kiwis figured out how to get the milking cups into the kangaroo's pouch and were successful at milking them.

Well Heather Mills came up with the idea of milking rats, so why not a hamster?

We'd have to drag little children back into the workforce to do it though.

Hey StoneHead, the Aussies are always trying to milk the Kiwis and when they can't they milk our ideas, like pavlova etc.

There is a manufacturing firm in Otorohanga who make milkinmg machines and they claim to be able to make a machine to milk any animal. I do know they developed one to milk camels.
