Hello from New Jersey
Hello everyone. Seems like a pretty cool board here. I'm originally from Morris county but just moved out "to the country" up in Sussex county in New Jersey. I've got a big yard but because there are so many trees around the property it's hard to find a spot for my garden that's in the sun all day, unless it put it smack dab in the middle of my yard which isn't an option right now. Nonetheless, my garden did ok last summer (my first summer in this house). It's about 10'x15'. The deer around here eat EVERYTHING. Even the plants that say that deer won't eat, they pull them out of the ground, chew on them and realize they don't like it, and then spit it right back out. It's kind of a slap in the face, I wish they would just eat it if they're going to ruin it! Anyway, we've pretty much fenced all of our bushes and garden in so it's getting better.
I guess that was pretty long winded for a "say hi" post...

Hello Bushbass,
We used to have the same problem with deer in Scotland. When we fenced the garden all it seemed to do was trap them in. They used to jump over the fence into the garden but seemed incapable or disinclined to jump back from whence they came. In the end we resorted to haunch of vension for Christmas dinner! The final straw was when they polished off my fruit trees. Funny, they never touched the Kale but then neither did we!
Welcome
Vanessa
