Re edible hedge,
I got it for £19.99 from buckingham nuseries (mail order) enough to hedge 30ft and is a mixture of rosa rugosa, cherry tree, hazel, blackthorn, and a plum tree. I also put a eleagnus and a chokeberry in with the order. So far so good just waiting for decent weather to plant it all.
I found a load of brilliant info from the Plants for a future web site and the forest garden book by Robert Hart. It'll be an interesting experiment to see just how much food we can harvest from the front garden!
Can we post photo's on the forum? It may be of interest to include some befores and afters.
Have a good weekend everyone
Vanessa
