Wow I love it!!!!

I love tattoos, but since having one done when young, and regreting it, I keep putting it off.

My OH is has loads, and they look great, but people do jump to conclusions.

Anyway, I hope your OH is happy with it, it's fab!!!! :flower:

It looks very pretty.
Actually I have to say that is one of the better ones, if I ever did get one done it would be similar sort of place and also winding. I have an advantage though, as long as it is my left foot (which it would be as I would like to cover some scars) then it shouldn't hurt cos I haven't got many nerves left in it

Hmmm, tattoos......

My father had 3, including heart with the name Olga in it (my mother's name was Beryl....). He did get it tattooed over.

Neither of us have any. I don't like tats on women (sorry) and would not like Mrs Wombat to get one. However, when we went on the "walk against warming" I got a kids temporary tattoo on my upper arm, of the Eastern Water Dragon, the symbol of sustainable Penrith. It turns out Mrs Wombat has a bit of a "thing" for tattoos on blokes! Neither of us knew that. Suffice to say that I have been going through a few temporary tattoos lately.

Oooh Tim, like OH tattoo - must've been painful.

Personally, I love tattoos altho' bit disappointed that it has become such a fashion trend that people are having them done without careful thought. So many of my friends who had them done when they were young regret them now they are older. I have wanted one for nearly 20 years and I must admit it was the thought of the pain that really put me off. In addition, I was a bit concerned about the tattoos I have seen on elderly people and didn't want that for me either. In addition, I realised that my views would probably change as I got older - either on whether to have one done or importantly, the design.

However, for various reasons, I decided that I was going to simply have it done. Took ages to choose a design, found a good artist who was well recommended and had it done. Yes, it hurt - like the tip of a knife pulled across your skin - but it wasn't half as bad as I thought it would be. I also had it at the base of my back so it really is quite personal to me.

Here is it only a couple of hours after it was done

By the way, talking of piercing, someone sent me this photo:

That took some doing!

Nah, that's a play piercing, I have real ones...as in, i had a 10 piece spinal corset. I could have laced mine like that.

Play piercings are when just the needle is taken through, they don't take the jewellery through too, and they are very much temporary!! I don't understand it...to get m corset has taken 6 years and has hurt like hell sometimes so i dn't get why people do it temporarily, but each to their own!

*shudders*

Each to their own I guess but I will just keep my body intact thanks... no pictures, no holes, no ribbons lacing up my back... I have neither the inclanation or the guts.

I did work with a guy who had a stunning tatoo over his whole back of a dragon with a basket-ball... it was real work of art and it took months to complete.
I have also known someone with a tacky betty boo tattoo that was a bit wrinkled. And I knew a guy who had tally marks on the inside of his wrist to mark the 7 devastating things that happened in his life... but the guy got it wrong and did 8 instead... DOH!!

I must be the only biker with no decoration

I did promise myself a feather (for achievement) tattoo when I passed my bike test after many years of wanting to do it, but I haven't seen a design of one that I really want forever.

T&F - thats a very pretty one, will look super when sandal weather arrives

I did see a lovely tattoo a while ago that i keep thinking about. It was an ear of wheat. I fancy it laying across one side of my back...
