Hi from another newbie

Post: # 89768Post dubgirl »

Hi, I found this site by accident really and have just been lurking and reading. I'm in Milton Keynes, which on the face of it is about as far removed from self sufficiency as you can get! Just recently I've been thinking about mine and my family's life and how we live and really feel fed up with the whole 'rat race' and consumerist society and it is my dream to be living the'good life' and be as self sufficient as possible.

Sorry if thats bit long - i dont keep chickens, although would love to and I have never grown a vegetable in my life, but going to give it a go so watch this space! :flower:

Hi, thanks for all the replies, made me feel very welcome.
Gigglybug, know exactly what you mean about the roundabouts. I dont know how long ago you were in bletchley, but its not what it used to be, sadly.

Hi, thanks for all the further replies. There are plenty of green spaces in MK, but under used and utilised. There are some great places to go outside, but the council/whoever dont seem to want to make the best of them. I just want to do my bit in my garden, which is small. The thing I've notice is that whilst all the allotments appear to be used and popular, although the council is trying to get rid of them, not many bods are using their garden - gardening doesnt seem that popular in MK, but then again I could be wrong.

hiya dubgirl

One time I was in MK was for a huge party, I got directions from the phone line, once we got near all hell broke loose, hundreds of cars all over the place all lost. I stopped my convoy and asked some bikers where was this place (it was a aircraft hanger) the bikers jumped on there bikes and took us there, and then spent most of the night ferrying people from roundabout hell to the party all night  I have not been back in MK since !!

anyway, welcome to ish !!
