Kilner Jars

[The Kilner Man]

The original Kilner jars all had screw tops but now almost any preserving jar is called Kilner, just like Vacuum cleaners are called Hoovers. There is still a clip top jar sold under the Ravenhead Kilner brand.

We use them for our moth trap (environmental monitoring - we aren't trying to eradicate moths!)... I suppose that's not exactly what they were originally developed for, but they are very useful. And they need to be the screwtop ones for that.
