Each square = one foot.
I have decided I want dwarf fruit frees within the fenced area and I may put a top bar bee hive in there among the fruit trees… there will be 6 fruit trees eventually, but not this year. The 3 bin compost will be in the corner near the gate.
There will be 9 full size 100 sq. ft. beds and three beds that equal 100 sq. ft. So in essence I will have ten 100 sq. ft. beds. How many of those beds I will use this year I am not sure, but probably four or five. I will plant the unused beds with some kind of cover/manure crop so they aren't left empty. I have been thinking of broadcasting some kind of grain in them. That won't get me as large of a crop as would planting in precise spacings, but would be a good way to do it quickly and I will be able to pretty much forget them, except to water, until harvest.
