Garden Signs

Post: # 8305Post Boots »

Does anyone else have signs in their garden? I like them... If I see one I like, I come home and make them up, because I am too scroogy to buy them.

I have "Warning Trespassers will be composted" on the top gate.

"Never lose your childlike heart" on the back verandah, and I have to keep pulling the Grandfathers whiskers back because they cover the words.

"From little seeds, big things grow" is in the front garden

and "Please leave room for the faires to dance" is next to the carparks.

Outside the front verandah I have "No - watering does not require unzipping"

...but I am beginning to think I might need one of those out the back too.

No - but I might now! Except for my significant other, watering does require unzipping! (well, only the compost heap, but still...)

Anyway, Stew - is that you and your award-winning parsnip? I like that photo...

Thanks Ina. Another year, another avatar.

I'll let you into a little secret - the parsnip is actually an amalgam of two different photos to make it look bigger (because size does matter). Took me ages, and I'm a little alarmed that the end result now looks like I'm pretending to point a gun, which wasn't the idea at all.

I don't think I'd be frightened of a man armed with a parsnip.

I'd snatch it and run away with it. I LOVE parsnips!

me neither shiney

Parsnips are favourites here - it's worth waiting for winter if it brings such delights.....

your 'not being frightened of a man armed with a parsnip' comment did bring to mind something i heard on the radio when I lived near Bath.. heard it on the news... a bloke had attacked someone with a fish... I do hope I'm not imagining it lol...

I very much doubt that you imagined it. There's some strange folks around these parts!
