Hallo from Anjou, France

We love hearing from you, so here is your chance. Introduce yourself and tell us what makes you selfsufficient 'ish'. Go on don't be shy, we welcome one and all. You can also tell us how you heard about us if you like.

Hallo from Anjou, France

Post: # 81270Post Jean »

Well, we can't even pretend to be selfsufficient in anything other than aspirations. But we do have a veggie patch and when we have time to clear the weeds we occasionally get a tomato (not last year though thanks to the rain!). I always plant a ratatouille: onions, tomatoes, aubergines and courgettes. Anything else is a bonus.
We have two beehives (we became beekeepers last year), this year we'll be getting some chickens and I am hopefully going to win the argument for the pigs. But for this I will need advice - so start it coming please!

Anjou is a lovely part of France but is sadly beginning to become a little English. The weather is not unlike southern England, but warmer.

Just off to find my map so I can locate Anjou. I am in Calvados and am no good at French geography.

Hello to someone else in France

We have been here just over a year with our veggie plot and livestock - including piggies!

All the best, Monika
