I'm watching a program called I Didn't Know that and they've just used this recipe and okayed it for taste and feeling:
3tbs Baking soda (i'm thinking this might mean bicarb...)
1tbs salt
3tsp glycerine
dash water
1tsp peppermint essence (not oil - peppermint oil can cause cavities rather than help them!
Apparently, it tastes minty and salty but is good at cleaning and feels good!

A few drops of myrrh EO would be good for the gums too.

Essential Oil of Myrrh tends to come from only one species - Commiphora Myrrha. It should say this on the bottle.
There aren´t other oils that I would recommend using in your mouth, unless you had specific problems with gums etc.
EO won´t clean or whiten your teeth, the other ingredients are for this.
