Lots of places in Normandy are twinned with Devon towns and villages. Our nearest small town (Aunay sur Odon) is twinned with Holdsworthy (which I know a bit from visiting friends inthe area). What is Vire twinned with - I can't remember?

I know where you are (vaguely), because there was a house we were interested in buying in Maisoncelles Pelvey, which is near Villers Bocage. We really wanted to live in 14 or 50 but ended up in Brittany!

Villers Bocage looks lovely although we have only driven through it - not stopped yet. We are about 20 mins from there.

Are you as frozen solid as we are? Mind you it was not so cold last night and the local farmer is prediciting rain for Christmas day :(

We have defrosted! My kitchen/bathroom cold water pipe thawed yesterday and the frost has gone but my veg look very sad so I'm just hoping they will be OK for Crimbo!

Still got ice all over the pond and very daft ducks waddling and slipping over it!

Oh, nearly forgot, I remember Villers Bocage for having the only greengrocers I have ever seen in France!

Hi there Tom

Welcome too :flower:

Where-abouts are you in Orne - I don't know it that well but are in the process of exploring the area. How often do you plan to get over?

Best wishes

Rosie
