Lambs in November?

Post: # 77816Post Millymollymandy »

My neighbour has 4 ewes and they normally have their lambs in February/March.

The other day I went outside and looked over at his paddock - and there was a cute little lambikin!!!

How strange is that, or isn't it?

Over to you, Ina........

some breeds, such as poll dorset, are not so seasonal and able to lamb all year round.

Couldn't agree more, red. And even with seasonal breeds, accidents will happen... Our Cheviots are supposed to lamb in April, but we know that a little while ago the tups from the next field couldn't resist the urge, so now we are expecting some in early February...
