Anyone know where i can get a large amount of almonds without paying an arm and a leg?
The OH is doing a "Lets bake a gingerbread house" thing at school for the kids. It's being done because she enjoys it, thus out of our pocket, so we're trying to reduce the cost to ourselves as much as possible, and almonds seem to be damned expensive!!!

Ergh - what do you need all those almonds for? Basic gingerbread doesn't have any in it - you might need a fe for decoration...
We get ours through the food co-op from SUMA, 5kg for around £28 (organic about twice that). Whereabouts in Scotland are you?

Can´t help but made my eyes roll to hear how much they are - for the last couple of years the local farmers are getting around 55p per unhusked kilo.
