Rocket and caterpillars

Two questions really, but sort of related!

First I'm amazed that despite 6 frosts and temps down to 1C, my rocket is still fine. At what temperature does it die, or will it keep going all through the winter?

Second, and so much for that companion planting, since my nasturtiums died off in the frost the caterpillars have been finding all my brassicas to munch instead - which includes the rocket and radishes! The worst of them (2 diff kinds, I'm assuming Large and Small Cabbage Whites) are on my curly kale, which is putting me off eating it!

So I'm wondering at what temperatures the ruddy caterpillars will be killed off - I'm getting bored of the daily caterpillar squidging patrol!

I have no idea, MMM - but they are alive and well here, too; and we are having ground frosts at least two nights out of three at the moment. My rocket still looks fine, too; much better than most of the summer, in fact.

Oh well! I suppose I should just be grateful I've got the rocket to eat - and it shouldn't run to seed at lower temperatures either (hopefully!).

I was praying the cold weather would help here, but if it's not helped where you are there's no chance down here in the warm south east!

I've been accused of trying to poison the OH with caterpillars I've missed pre cooking, I just close my eyes and stuff it down, hey I'm not veggie so there's not a problem!!

I'm really happy to find out that rocket is as tough as old boots - we've had loads of frosts and down to minus 3C and it is still good for eating! What a wonderful discovery!

Have eaten kale once so far but I did wash it a lot and examine it just in case there were still some caterpillars about!
