Hello from me.

Post: # 74376Post SarahJane »

Hi I would just like to say hello from a "newbie". I found your site when searching for pickle/chutney recipes and decided to join.

I live in a tiny cottage with only a tiny garden and a waiting list as long as your arm for an allotment, but do try and grow/preserve as much as I can.

I am hoping that having a read on here and getting some ideas and advice will help me along my way.

Thanks for the welcome. I cant believe how much information is on here, its fantastic!

I will post a few recipes. I love to cook and am currently on a mad preserving spree. Anything I can cook, pickle or preserve in jars. I am hoping that I will have made enough to give friends and family a selection as christmas prezzies, aswell as having enough left over to use at home.

Hello!

Post: # 77664Post vinca »

Hi There from another Newbie!

I dream of being self sufficient and have the potential, it's just finding the time and the energy to do it all! I am one of the lucky ones, in that I have enough land to elevate myself to small holding status, but it's energy levels that restrict me; I've got the dreaded ME!

Since learning to pace myself and giving up contracted work for the health service I have been much better at doing the things I want to do and am determined that next year will see us one or two steps closer to my crazy dreams being fulfilled.

Meanwhile I am still making jams, bottling, wine, home baking & proper cooking. While I'm not growing too much this year I do get a farm box for the missing ingredients. Can't wait to learn more about this stuff!!! And better yet, put it into practise.

Polly
