It's amazing how many companies still stick to the minimum legal requirements as to breaks...

But I'm sure they can't make you stay at your desk during your breaks? Isn't there a legal provision that they have to provide a place that's safe and clean and all the rest of it for your breaks? Or at least let you get out for a walk!
I'm lucky - officially I'm on flexi time, which would give me the option to have up to two hours lunch. Since I work in a farm environment, I generally have what all the other farm workers have: one hour lunch, and a break in the morning plus one in the afternoon. These breaks sometimes tend to be quite long, as my boss and I get chatting about work concerns - and then they turn into meetings... And since I live at work (tied cottage), I go home and have "proper" lunch. And I must say, I really appreciate having this opportunity.
