Sustained magazine

Post: # 6420Post Chickenlady »

A few days ago I picked up what is described as the pilot issue of this new magazine, covering all things green. It is basically a 10 page taster of what will be a 32 page magazine.

It looks very good and interesting, and will be distributed free on a limited basis ( I assume to libraries and other public places), although you will be able to subscribe for £2 an issue.

I am quite keen to support this. If you are interested in seeing the pilot issue, the address for enquiries is: Mark De'ath, Victoria Chambers, St Runwald Street, colchester CO1 1UF.

Some of you will have come across Tracey Smith on this site - she has a short article in this issue too. They will have a website too, although I just looked at it and it isn't up and running yet: www.sustainedmagazine.com.

I meant to say, although it seems to be based in Colchester, it appears to be planned as a national magazine...

Hi chickenlady!

That sounds like a very interesting read. I've emailed them to ask whether they plan to have copies up here in Aberdeenshire.

I received my free pilot copy in the week - I think its going to br good, in fact I have subscribed. Most of the content is about the kind of things I'm doing anyway but its going to be 32 pages (pilot copy has 12) and I'm all for sustainable living. I'm always keen to support this kind of initiative so do look out for it and email Marc De'ath your comments.

On the subject of magazines, does anyone out there read Resurgence? There is alot of good reading in the latest issue. Try reading it on line at www.resurgence.org.

It is funny that you should mention sustained magazine, Tracey who comes on this site writes for them as do myself and Dave, that is if Marc likes our stuff.

I received my copy - sorry for the delay in writing about it though.

I'm very impressed - I've kept it and keep showing it to friends/visitors who always end up having a mag or three to look at. I'm a bit of a hoarder I suppose anyway as I HATE to throw mags out.

I'm going to freecycle some of my older ones as I'm running out of space LOL but they won't be my Sustained mag OR my Green Parent mag either. I think I'll have those forever!

I'd forgotten all about that but then again I don't think I've been on the forum for ahem - a year. Anyway always good to be in print - cheers Mark.
