Bulk buy chicken food
I live in Otley, West Yorks and am hoping to get together enough people to bulk buy organic chicken feed. Its £8.78 a bag if you buy a pallet full (thats 40). If you are interested or know of any similar schemes in the area, let me know .

get yourself a silo, buy in bulk, and save a fortune (bagged costs a LOT more!)

Wish I could do that in East Lothian!
I never buy too much feed - always wary of the best before date (sometimes perilously near at my closest supplier). Perhaps the vitamins/minerals might not go off so quick in organic feed though?

I seem to remember that once in a while, a small silo would come up at a local farm sale for very little - if you erect that, the feed lorry comes along, and "blows" the feed into the silo - no hassle, no lumping of bags, and lots cheaper because of it
You can then bag it if you wish..........

It's quite difficult to get organic feed supplied like this - or at least it is up this way.Martin wrote:I seem to remember that once in a while, a small silo would come up at a local farm sale for very little - if you erect that, the feed lorry comes along, and "blows" the feed into the silo - no hassle, no lumping of bags, and lots cheaper because of it![]()
