101 uses for baby jars

101 Uses For is popular and let's hope it stays that way. Our second book is presently called 101 tips for self sufficiency; we will certainly dip into this section for ideas. So post away and let's try and get at least one thread up to 101.

22. (I think) Gel air fresheners- gelatine or agar agar/vegegel, water, food colouring and essential oils of choice. Make up gel according to the instructions, add colouring and fragrance. Tip into jar before it sets. Remove lid when you want the smell.
NB It doesn't keep for that long, but the fragrance will fade too. The children and I made a lovely lavender one for MIL birthday (in a 'crystal' container I got from the PDSA shop, admittedly, but you could jazz up the jars for gifts I guess)

23. fill with sweets/small toys for fundraising childrens Lucky Jar Tombola. Encourage children to leave the jar in a box so you can use them again next year...
