Update on the Tomato plants.

We have 6 or so healthy looking plants that are just starting to flower.

I have no idea what will happen if they actually start growing tomatos because we won't have space for those AND the chilli plants (and the herbs)
I'm increasingly of the belief that any shops situated on or near retails parks only serve to make people unhappy.

Update, my Moorcroft Apricot sems to have servived the cold snap and is now enjoying the freek hot spell!, what is it with the weather at the moment, it's less than one month since my last post here and we were from 10 deg C to -3 deg C now we've been over 17 deg C for the last week!.

I'm actually having to thin out the "embyro apricots" as there is so many if this lot comes through there's going to be a serious glut!.

seem to have lost my Avitar post server switch, will get round to sorting it out once I sober up!...

So you know how great Salsify is as a veg, what about Cavero Nero, great leaves all through the winter , then in Spring sprouting broccolli like flowers! Takes up half as much room as broccolli

I'm going to try and plant out some seedlings that have been seedlings for a year now... Several things were sown by myself last year and then the dreaded round tuit was lacking again. So I now have little salsify in loo rolls, a couple of pepper plants and some cabbages in small pots, waiting to be grown on! And some herbs and flowers - can't even remember what they are.

I'm just taking over an allotment so will be growing almost everything against the odds. I was told carrot seed doesn't keep, so all varieties have gone in regardless of when they were supposed to be planted. Spring onions and beetroot that it is officially too late for according to the packet, peas and broad beans - worth a go considering the allotment is going to sit there an do nothing otherwise.

I also did, in anticipation of getting the ground, alot of sewing into containers to plant out- and have just planted out turnips and carrots, both of which seems to have taken to the experience OK, even the spinach is ahppy despite it's reputation for hating transplanting. Perhaps they are grateful to get out of my dingy slug ridden garden to some daylight!

Will let you now if they survive :?

I discovered I'd put some seed packets through a 50'C wash in my trouser pockets  the turnips didn't get wet at all but the greens got soaked and have now germinated

Just to let you know the pot raised turnips were really tasty and the carrots grew in spirals eventually out of the newspaper pots and were yummy last night. All the stuff planted 'too late' is up and thriving  Aren't plants wonderful
