Hello from Surrey

Post: # 66507Post QuakerBear »

Hello everyone,

I've been interested in self sufficiancy since I was a kiddie and had a veggie plot.

Now I have an allotment and a load of tomatoes at my work. I'm also really interested in the non-growing aspects of selfsuffiancy such as preserving foods, weaving and other textile crafts and am just starting to get interested in animal husbandry. Oh, I've also just started keeping bees, but they don't want to come out much at the moment 'cos it's raining.

I'm a Quaker who's becoming more involved in the Testament of Simplicity. It's great fun to see how if fits in with my gardening and ecological outlook. I also think it fits in with our Testament of Integrity by not being irresponsible with the enviroment. I probably won't talk about Quakerism here but if you have any questions please do ask, don't be shy, I promise I'm not a religious weirdo who looks like they've belong on the front of a packet of oats. Well I hope not, I'm a girl you see.

Oh, I really, really like good food, very important that, tasty food...mmm...feeling hungry now.

Oh aaand, I can't spell, please be forgiving. Thank you.

'You know you are a hard-core gardener if you deadhead flowers in other people's gardens.

To err is human. To blame someone else, is management potential.
