Hello and Peace from London!
Hello there! I came across this site whilst googling home-made beauty products!
I gave up in the end and experimented with strawberries, olive oil, coconut oil, essential oil and other stuff I had in my kitchen cupboard and today concocted a tasty moisturizer which I can't wait to use when i do my routine tonight lol! (i've posted the recipe on my blog... http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fusea ... D=57498754)
I am recently married, living with my hubby in a one-bed flat with no garden (boo!) but many terracotta pots and a homemade composter on the outskirts of London and gently persuading him into my green habits which sometimes verge on the side of OCD.
I like to recycle all my leftovers from candles and 'second-hand' candles from charity shops and give them to my friends and family as gifts, as we speak I am cooking up a batch of stripey coloured pillar candles. Yum!
If anyone would like any tips on how to save yourself the expense of candles and how to reuse the leftovers let me know and I'll post a new thread! Yay!
Anyways... You'll be hearing from me again i'm sure!
Peace/Salaams/Shalom.... Ayisha. x

welcome! - I had a bash at candlemaking, and found a pub that let me have all the candle stubs (they stuck them in wine bottles) - warm them up, scoop out the wicks - raw material! - that's about as sophisticated as I got - I'd be interested to see how you do it!

Hola from Al Andalus!
Rose oil hmmmmm.....essential oils are my thing.
Just took a look at your myspace, you´re very timely, we´ve been praising mooncups too today!
Your pic - that´s the Alhambra right? I live in the heart of Moorish Granada; my chickens are overlooked by an old Moorish fort, I have a Moorish irrigation system feeding my land.
Welcome, Clara.

Hey Ayisha!
I used to work for a company that did things with wax, and still have some around somewhere. I used to do a bit with candles and it is fun!
