...........and Radio

Do you think The Good Life could be remade, with me or Dave playing Tom Good (maybe not!)? If you have seen something on TV or heard something on the radio recently that you want to talk about, tell us here.

great fan of the wireless- particularly the Home Service!
They hide all sorts of gems, like "Home Planet" and "Changing Places" in the middle of the afternoon - have noticed "The Now Show" definitely has it's moments!
I'm thoroughly enjoying the reruns of "Dad's Army", "I'm sorry I haven't a clue", and Hancock on Radio 7 too! :cooldude:
And if all else fails, or there's yet ANOTHER boring, patronising programme by those awful "woman's hour" presenters or the unutterable Fi Glover, there's always button 3 on the dab radio - "Planet Rock" - which does precisely what it says on the tin - rocks! (bit much all the time, but refreshing when compared to being matronised!)

Amateurs encouraged - very keen prices and friendly helpful service!

Having nae telly, I don't often look in this category, but just noticed the AND RADIO bit this morning

I tend to listen to BBC R4 early in the morning, R2 later in the morning (Wogan ) , R4 at lunchtime (primarily to avoid Jeremy Vine), Tom Morton on R Scotland in the afternoon and then back to R4 in the early evening.

I listen to a lot of BBC Radio on demand on my squeezebox in the evenings whilst reading. R4's Dead Ringers and R Scotland's Traveling Folk are regular favorites but I cannot wait until R4 do another series of The Count Arthur Strong Radio Show!

If your DAB reception is in the last bit weak, then I recommend making a simple aeriel - I made one a while back and it made a massive difference to my reception. (And cost nothing to make!)

I can't stand Wogan :angryfire: he just makes me shout at the wireless.

I listen to Radio 4 in the morning then usually have Radio 2 on in the afternoon, though I could do without Steve Wright.

I was listening to Radio 7 alot in the evenings over winter, they have great old and new comedy and drama... they had been running Sherlock Holmes mysteries.

I am trying to decide which wind up radio to get so I can listen to it in the garden too... and when there is a power cut...

I have this one and use it lots. It does need a lot of cranking if it's to be on for a long time, but I just make sure it is left in the sun (mostly in the tunnel) and as a result, I have only needed to wind it up once (and that was because I stupidly/accidentally covered up the solar panel!)

Might find it cheaper elsewhere. It's analogue so there's no BBC7!

Yeah, That is the front runner at the moment though I have seen this one which looks pretty funky, and at that price... it might be worth a try... also the company is South African and I kind of think that type of industy should be encouraged.

Looks good! Solar is more important/useful than wind up I think.

Can't believe I didn't notice this thread sooner. I'm a complete radio junkie, the worst thing (well one of many) about returning to work is that I can't have a radio in our sterile open plan office.

Mostly R4 for me, but also World Service on the digital radio & Late Junction/ Andy Kershaw on R3. Listening to World Service now, although I really should go & get something to eat...
