Howdy from Tennessee, USA
Hello all!
I imagine (and hope) that I'll have lots of questions and discussions in the future as I attempt to buy, rehabilitate and make self-sufficientish use of a very small, old farm in East Tennessee.
I'm currently a Nine-to-fiver, but when I go home I spend time poking in the woods, gathering herbs, learning about native plants, growing gardens with my husband, keeping bees with my parents, and dreaming of a future full of farm animals, handmade cheese, homespun yarn, hand-hewn stone and everything in between.
I'm pretty much a luddite girl living a techie existence . . . very strange. Going to work at a computer and going home to the woods. And glad to be in an online community of self-sufficientish-ers with such an international reach--all us Americans aren't xenophobic warmongerers :)
Nice to meet everyone!

We've always suspected that... Despite official efforts to make us believe the opposite!eva wrote:-all us Americans aren't xenophobic warmongerers :)

Welcome to the ishers, Eva. You are planning all those things that I'm eventually hoping to do, too - made a start on some of it. But this blimming job gets in the way... And I'm still looking for the right kind of place, too!
