On this day I foolishly Posted a subject: Drought resistant veg
I've decided to plan ahead for next year, there's no water supply up at the lottie so every drop has to be carried or collected. What crops could I grow that would survive another dry summer? something exotic and unusual would be good, or if there are any varieties of the traditional veg that have coped better. My marfona tatties were real disappointing and my red onions barely poked out of the soil.
by anticipating his actions I must have angered the God of Sunburn enough to prompt his brother (the God of Trenchfoot) to wreak his vengance. This year I will not plan ahead and make no predictions about the future weather. I promise

Kind apologetic thoughts
Deb

You tempted fate,
The Gods of fate have punished you for your foolishness
You will respect the Gods of fate,
For it is they who govern all

Next year just don't be such a smartie pants

No, it's my fault. I've been waiting for ages for one of my water butts to empty. It needs to be propped up properly before it, too, collapses and I have to drink that one as well! :pale:

I like the little god of puddles too, when I was at school I was forced to play rugby which I hated and frequently prayed to the little god of puddles (and was often answered :) ).

Actually I think it's mine- one resolution this year was to install a water butt. I did this the day it started to rain afetr the dry April- and it's fair to say it hasn't stopped!

Silly me didn't install an overflow coz I didn't hink I could possibly get too much water- so that secured the down pour. Within days I was bucketing the rain into every available container- includig the wheelie bin.

I have had to take the diverter out for the time being, I just can't store any more water!!

Got to be my fault
Just Do It!
