How far can recycling be taken ...

Is Betsy Reid a SSish member? If not she should be ...

I've always been a keen sealed tube opener & scrapper myself!

The only one of the tips we don't do so far is have a wormey composter - but its on its way now!! lol.
We once had one of my daughters friends ask if there was anything we didn't re-use or recycle - as I was watering my plants with the left over breakfast tea!! So I really don't know how we still have to put our bins out every other week! I'd love to be as efficient as Betsy!!
Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!

My only reservation is using the jumper from the dogs basket to patch another jumper ... wouldn't do that with one any of the stinking hounds I've had had slept on :pale:

Just read through the comments - what really annoys me are people like the one poster who says "I can't do this because I live in a flat". Rubbish. (Excuse the pun.) I use to live in flats, and managed to accumulate no more than one black bag full every three months. Or those who say "they don't have time because the have to work 60-80 hours a week etc etc...". Again - rubbish. If you didn't "have to" consume so much you wouldn't "have to" work so much either (OK, some professions like farmers excepted). And anyway - how does it take much time to reduce your waste? I can't see it. Sorting, recycling, and all the rest of it is second nature to me. It would probably cost me more time having to think about not doing it...

Those Tetra-Pac meat trays. Is there any reason why they can't be replaced with ordinary plastic trays that could be recycled? Are the TPs cheaper to produce? I think I will ask at the local supermarket.
