swimming pools

Post: # 64628Post sandyshore »

my new house has a swimming pool. i have never had a swimming pool before, and although this comes with all the pumps and filters needed to keep it healthy i have a few questions.

i dont have the space to make the pool into a natural swimming pool, and dont want to use chemicals. would i need to run the filters and pumps 24 hours a day to ensure the pool remains healthy? if so is it easy to run the pool filtration system using solar power?

your help is much appreciated

We have an moorish water deposit (alberca) that we swim in, it´s not as clean as a swimming pool, but it is healthy because there is a constant flow of water in and out. We don´t use anything else, though I think you can use a solar filter.

I suspect that unless you change the water regularly (like once a week) you will have to use some chemicals - regular pools are not really eco-friendly (though a lot of fun and welcome relief in this heat!).

You will soon make your self ill unless there is a constant flow of fresh water in, also you will have to be cleaning out your pool filters very regularly.
I've not investigated ourselves, but perhaps there is a more environmentally alternative to chlorine.
Also remember the amount you will be using anyway is a lot less than public pools.

We were given some Synuric acid to add as it supposedly reduces the need for so much cholorine.
Opinionated but harmless

Here is a site that does not use chemicals. By the looks of it , it is based in USA. I don't think the system would be exclusive to the US, so you could hunt around.
