Old TV series with Pauline Collins & John Alderton

Post: # 6442Post Mrs. Tweedie »

Pauline Collins & John Alderton did a TV series back in the 70's(?). She played the part of a ditzy dame & he was an actor (his job). The story line was about them meeting their engagement & their married life. Very funny!!!! Does anyone remember the name of the series?

"No, Honestly"? That's the only likely suspect I could find from the Internet Movie Database: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0072551/

That seems to ring a bell. Though it's prequel, or sequel, 'Yes Honestly' featured that naturally dizzy dame, whose name escapes me, that used to be married to Shane Fenton (aka Alvin Stardust), with some other bloke.

Pauline Collins and John Alderton, being married IRL, have appeared in a great many shows together, on stage and screen, including one a few years ago about a family that escaped the rat race for a simpler life in the country. I believe it may actually have reflected their own real life experience of doing it.
