read about these seed potatoes that have been kept cold stored etc, then yoy plant then July Aug for Oct - Dec harvest (or equiv on other side of the world from me!)

what do you think? good idea?

Ordinary earlies will do fine, Red; keep a few small ones back from your crop and stick them in the ground late August - or maybe early September in your neck of the woods!

ok thanks for that

have decided wont be doing them - the whole notion of having new potatoes for Christmas dinner is .. well wrong on so many fronts. for a start I refuse to think about or discuss Christmas now. despite the weather. dang I just did - well I take it back. and anyway roast spuds are the done thing.. and anyway again, seasonal veg has its place..
besides - we have dug six hug veg beds already.. time to focus on teh fruit beds.....
