Hervey Bay is in Queensland Australia. We have a sub-Tropical climate.
Fraser Island is about 45 mins by barge or in Kilometers about 17.
We are the Whale watching capital as they say of the East Coast of Australia.
I am fortunate as we live on a small acerage 15 Kilometers from the coast/town so I have the best of both the bush living and coastal.

Welcome! We "temperate" growers are highly jealous of your growing season though, so don't expect too much sympathy when things go wrong!

LOL Hedgewizard I am still a novice at a lot that I try and when things go wrong I take it as a learning curb.
I am envious as I love your part of the world. But we are spoiled here with 2 full growing seasons of 6 months each.

  Hope you didn't bump your head when you fainted.
I am just starting to pick from the garden. Last night we had Osso Bucco with a side of Home grown Rainbow Chard, English Spinach and Radish tops along with New Potatos.
Today I will use the Radish bulbs, Rocket, Parsley, Endive, Mustard Greens in a tossed salad with my girls free range eggs. It will be our first official everything from our yard meal served with slices of home made bread made by hand not in a breadmaker. Oh and a couple of Roma tomatos as well.
