hi.. I've been lurking :)

We love hearing from you, so here is your chance. Introduce yourself and tell us what makes you selfsufficient 'ish'. Go on don't be shy, we welcome one and all. You can also tell us how you heard about us if you like.

hi.. I've been lurking :)

Post: # 61866Post vixnpips »

Just thought I'd say hi.. as i've been lurking for a while reading the posts after being told about the site.

well I thought we would give this self sufficient thing ago after managing to grow a small crop of spuds in the compost heap last year by accident! The best bit about it.. well not only was it a nice suprise.. but childhood memories came flooding back of my grandparents garden as i tucked into the nicest spuds in years!

Anyway this year we have kept the composter theme going by throwing in some chitted spuds.. and they are doing well.. although we now have a small veggy patch in the garden.. and a chicken coop ready for it's occupants who are due to arrive soon.

anyway.. thanks for the info i have already gained.. will be on here quite a bit I think :flower:
