I think the one of the Gordon dam is my favourite - the construction of this dam sparked the green movement and political party in Australia. We had to drive through about 3 hours of forest to get to it, and there were a party of green protestors still camped out on the road (after, what, 30 years?). When we were driving home the rain had set in and it was cold and they were all huddled under their tarps, but the good old Aussie police had arrived and bought them thermoses and hot food, which I thought was nice of them.

If you want to be happy for a day, buy a car. If you want to be happy for a weekend, get married. If you want to be happy for a lifetime, be a gardener.
