eco band wagon

so tired of people making a profit out of it - today had a leaflet through the door from 'ecowarmth'
turns out they sell electic storage radiators.
as they are better than night storage, they use less electricity, and therefore can make the claim :
reduced energyneeds= reduced energy costs+ helps the planet
and invites you to
enjoy the summer warmth in your home all year round with ecowarmth
and on the back of the leaflet some reference that indicates the 'eco' bit refers to economical not eco-friendly. must be a coincidence that the eco part of their logo is green

sigh

I am sure we will soon have eco friendly coal power stations, eco friendly SUV's - actually doesn't Arnold Schwarzenegger drive a bio-diesel hummer? I kind of think that is missing the point too.

Gah! But turning your heating off in the summer and down several degrees in the winter does this without spending any additional money!

I have storage heaters and someone told me they use the least amount of electricity of other electric heaters :?

They are a complete nightmare, you have to be phsycic to figure the damned thing out. It seems it only works if you have had it on for 24 hours before you need the heat :? Also the rooms that have the heaters in are like furnaces and the rest of the house is an ice box (whatever the weather) hmmm...yes I do appear to have the summer heat all year round, whether I like it or not.

Always used to make my eyes roll whenever I saw an incinerator on the way into London with the slogan "recycling waste into energy for London" proudly emblazoned across it.
