I'm pretty much a complete newbie to growing veg. I used to grow a few lettuces in pots and managed a mutant spring onion once.
I want to go as organic as I can. I'm trying to keep pragmatic and not get carried away with the excitement so I reckon I'll be pestering you with all sorts of questions
I've been reading through old posts and have gleaned so much useful information already. I'm a web developer so while I won't be able to help out with queries about gardening for obvious reasons, I'll keep my eye on the Tomorrows World forum and I hope I can contribute to the forums that way.
If I remember my greek mythology correctly, Persephone was Demeter's daughter (Demeter was goddess of wheat or something - mother earth type). I don't quite feel old enough to be someone's mother (though it's my birthday today and I'm feeling the years a bit!) so Persephone it is.
It seems my memory's not too bad but Persephone wasn't quite the romantic, garden-y type I had in mind when I chose the name - she was also the Queen of the dead, apparantly! That explains a lot about my yucca
Sorry about your yucca... I'm sure you'll have more luck with the outdoors growing - yucca don't really belong in this climate, anyway! (Well, you could use that as an excuse.)
