Getting to know you

Post: # 52711Post yugogypsy »

LOL  Boots, thats a toughie.

Nickname: Sam, because my Dad wanted a boy and I was an only.

I thought I'd be a nurse when I grew up.

Self-sufficient thinking-well my parents were older and when Dad retired he grew an enormous garden and we canned and froze enough stuff to last a year.

I have a disability pension and I call my gardening working for myself because I'd eventually like to have enough to sell along with some crafts.

First thing I planted was a tree-with Dad's help (I was 3  )

First food I caught- a trout, fishing with Dad

Under the bed-besides dust bunnies

A ceiling fan, a big suitcase of clothes, two tool boxes a saw and an axe and a carpenters square and two briefcases, both mine

No mouse pad-optical mouse, frost chart for my area hanging to left of the desk gives me away as a gardener

What scares me-having NO income whatsoever before I can barter, buy a little and work my way to total self-sufficiency

First big laugh-being over tired and helping my cousin move, I had a whole package of 36 rolls of toilet paper rip open and come cascading off a tall shelf at me
I ended up :sign5: , I laughed until I :crybaby:

My Mercedes van/new potting shed is the first thing I see out the back door

Had a bowl of soup for tea last night-homemade soup of course!

Not supporting any charities right now, the powers the SPCA have here in Canada make them not a worthwhile cause giving to.

I do support one, yes, the local cat rescue society because they helped me one time when I was stone broke :pale:

I detest washing dishes because it makes my shoulder hurt

If I were banished anywhere I'd take Tom with me as he is very inventive and very good at getting most things done

last CD was 8 years ago Chely Wright-Single White Female

last gift I don't know what it was, Christmas gift from my ex's Mum-we were already in a rocky patch and I didn't feel I should accept the gift and I mailed it back to her with a polite explanation

Most annoying thing, sit around thinking too much-well hey you guys, I've been sick for 4 yrs, weigh 95 pounds, give me a break here.

Favorite drink (alcoholic-a Caesar-clamato juice and vodka) otherwise tea

Favorite place-our old homestead 3 miles from here, it has one Gravenstein apple tree that is just right for sitting in to read a book and eat apples.

Hope that tells you something about me

Lois

Eeeks I have just re-read the bit about being banished to an island - all this time I thought it said DESERT ISLAND, so I thought Stoney would be handy for building me a house and catching my dinner.

However, it could be an idyllic island with a nice house and all mod cons in Greece, so in that case I'd take my husband!

However, it could be an idyllic island with a nice house and all mod cons in Greece, so in that case I'd take my husband!

Only just saw this. Don't worry about the husband and the mod cons, I'm out to build a raft right now. I've never had anyone propose I play big strong hunter-gatherer builder on a desert island before!!
