Can I just use me watering can and pour it over the fleece itself or will I need to remove the tunnel and then water and put the tunnel back on after?
Using Fleece Polytunnels
Using Fleece Polytunnels
I'm just about to put some broccoli, cauliflower, lettuce and carrot seeds under fleece polytunnels and I was wondering what the best way to water the soil and once grown, the actual plants would be?

I used fleece to try and keep the cabbage white caterpilars at bay last year (not altogether successful), and the roll fleece specifically said you could water through it. Well I'm here to tell you that it was lying. The water just rolled off it like water off a duck's back (not that I've ever tried watering a duck, mind).
In the end, I made liftable ends to my tents and watered from each end.

lol... i did that the other day. I was watering the seeds that I'd just sown and the ducks came over to see what was happening and the female pushed herself in the line of the watering can... and yup, the water ran straight off!!Muddypause wrote:Well I'm here to tell you that it was lying. Tested it this morning, after spending a few hours sighting the tunnels over me noo seeds yesterday ....
The best way it seems is to use a hose with a spray nozzle, or if you tred on yours and break it like I did this morning
.... then a thumb over the end of hose will do to create a fine spray, which I angled all over the polytunnels for about 30 seconds .... I noticed that once they had gotten a little soaked then the water started to seep through .... and once I had finished I took a peek in the tunnel and the soil was nicely watered!
Result!
