I have recycled to the max today

Do you keep livestock? Having any problems? Want to talk about it, whether it be sheep, goats, chickens, pigs, bees or llamas, here is your place to discuss.

I have recycled to the max today

Post: # 34484Post maggie144 »

Hi Everyone,

My daughter and I had a problem which we solved quite easily with recycled materials and thought i would share it with you all.

Have too many ducklings and not enough pens for them. so we decided to build a new one, with left overs from around the place.

Have an old dog crate which Cindy my dog won't use any more, so i lined it with straw and covered it with a strong taupalin the fencing was some left overs that have been lying around for ages, and the poles i uses were aluminium bars from a unwanted greenhouse. we have put our elderly duck Clyde in the new run (we retired him ) and the ducklings now have the big pen where clyde was and we have two new pens and lots of happy ducklings

never thought i could do it on my own (ex husband always thought i was pretty useless at diy) but new husband encourages me to have a go and i am very please with the result.

Will definately try building again.

Maggie

   Maggie

My partner thinks I'm pretty useless too-then I go out and build something that leaves him scratching his head.

I've been in this self-sufficiency/recycling game a bit longer than him and have learned some tricks

Keep on going girl-I'm behind you cheering all the way

Does that partly explain why he's your EX? I had renovated at least two houses when I met my ex. I'd had a go at wiring, plastering, bricklaying, repointing, and lots of demolition but was well aware of my limits. Then he came along and over the next 4 years convinced me that I was completely hopeless at anything. It took me a while after he'd left to get my confidence back but now I am once again tackling those jobs and having a go.

Go for it girl. You can do it.

Sounds like it is a good thing that he was your EX and that you have a supportive new one
