Potato questions

Post: # 5277Post 2steps »

my potatoes are just about ready to come up. would it be ok if i planted more in that spot as i take them up? and should i add anything specfic to the soil?

just a bit of an experiment really as i have some sprouted potatoes in a sack in the larder. they've gone fairly soft and planting them would save them being wasted

I don't think there is any harm in trying - they're in a pot aren't they? I would add some general purpose fertiliser to the soil though as the first lot will probably have taken out the goodness from the soil/potting compost (don't know what you put in the pot, if it's in a pot).

Also if you see any nibble marks on the 1st lot of spuds, then have a delve around in the pot/soil to see if you can find the culprits, then get rid of them!
