Selfsufficientish goes Myspace

Had a chat with Dave and we decided to set up a myspace blog, at the moment it is more about the forthcoming book. It might stay that way but who knows with these things.

Anyway if you have a myspace and want to be a friend then have a look at it here or perhaps just have look anyway just to dip into what all this myspace stuff is all about. Still not totally sure myself about it all

FWIW, I think the MySpace site is an appalling mess; the only reason I've got an account is because the volume of people on there makes it worthwhile (although I still can't figure out why they all like it, seeing as it breaks every rule about accessibility and aesthetics in its design!).

Despite that, it has been a good way to catch up with some friends; I guess it's like when you go down the pub to meet your mates even if it's a grotty old dive you'd never go to if it wasn't for the fact it had become the place to hang out with them.

It is not the most asthetic of sites is it. I hate the way that text clashes all the time and the interface is not great either, far too many ads all over the place too. But you right it is for the volume of traffic that we decided to go on there. I have contacted some old friend through it already despite only properally setting it up last night.

BTW you are one of our top friends at the moment

Glad to see you are both human. Don't let it get on top of ya's though... This is a great break for ya both, but doesn't need to break yas. If all else fails, you will still have each other, and when it comes down to it, all the money in the world wouldn't be worth anything if you don't have your best mate there to share it with.

Ah we growl at each other and have been known to fight (I lost one of my teeth once) but the thing with twins is that amnosity never lasts. I do count my lucky stars that I have someone who is going through the same ups and downs with the book and site and everything else. If it all goes tits up then we have each other to blame until we are old and grey

I have no idea what this site is all about and I get a lot of it in French.

So I want to know what is your 'allure' which is 2cm?????

I only know that allure means gait or pace (from horseriding!).

So can someone tell me what it says on an English site in the bit between he's engaged and he's a Leo. Please! I wanna know what is 2cm!!!

I don't like Myspace, which is a shame really. It is too buggy, too much info on start up, too jumpy. And it is owned by Rupert Murdoch!

I much prefer LiveJournal, and as I only have time to write in one blog I will be sticking with that.

Hi,

Might I suggest using Facebook - the site is not so messy and allows you to share photos a whole lot more easily than My Space...I'd love to see some pictures of your self sufficient-ish'ness'!

Although I don't think it allows for such easy 'networking' as MySpace...
